Snowblind

The crisp, white snow blankets everything, creating an illusion of a mask. It's not really hiding anything, but for a brief moment we can pretend that all of our worries have gone away - that we have a blank slate to work with, to start anew.

But like any blank slate, it only remains clean and pure for so long, until it is sullied and changed. Just like the grime and muck that eventually permeate their way into the virgin snow, reality begins to seep in and remind us not necessarily of why we are here, but that we ARE here.

The illusion is shattered, and all is as it was.
